Don’t Let Go Of The Hope You Profess In God (Hebrews 10:23)

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.

Hebrews 10:23

Each time we hope for something, we not only need to hope for the divine destination or result that we are seeking, but also to be able to hold that hope—an active, intentional choice to maintain certainty, without wavering or deviation on whether God will fulfill it. The moment we declare and confess what we are seeking, we are actively proving to our Heavenly Father our faith in Christ and His eternal promises. The act of praying for something is proof that we know we can receive it, otherwise, why would we even ask?

God Himself, the source of all promises, blessings, and miracles, is the ultimate definition of faithful. In all circumstances and moments, He is reliable, trustworthy, and unchanging in His character. Knowing this, the only thing that ever sways in our quest for a prayer to be answered is our own spiritual steadfastness. Anytime we’re placed in a trial or tribulation, we stop holding firmly onto our faith and our trust in His sovereignty begins to waver.

We ask for divine guidance, yet we don’t truly feel we can receive it. We profess and declare what we want, without surrendering to His perfect will or understanding His divine timing. While we steer away from His presence, God stays exactly where He is—preparing the right moment to deliver on our greatest hopes, dreams, and prayers—not when we want it, or how we want it, but in a way that is far greater than anything our human, logical minds can fathom.

But until then, our only spiritual role is to persevere through seasons of doubt and difficulty with unwavering faith. Maintaining hope is an intentional spiritual effort—where each day, we must draw closer to God’s heart. We must pray for divine certainty, supernatural strength, and unshakeable faith. We must commune with Him throughout the day, especially in moments of deep pain or suffering. We must actively connect to His word and keep His spirit alive within us. Because when we truly understand God’s faithful character, we know that He has already guaranteed the fulfillment of His promises. That is when we can rest in His peace—knowing that our hope and faith will lead us to the miracles He has prepared for us.
