Our past can sometimes weigh so heavily on us that it becomes difficult to embrace what God is doing in our lives today. Though it’s hard to let go of old hurts, disappointments, or fears, God often has new blessings waiting on the other side of surrender. Pray this with me and feel His peace.

Dear God,

Help me release the grip of past experiences that limit my faith and allow my eyes to perceive the new work you are doing in my life in this exact moment. I know that your new plans are beautiful and bright, yet there is a part of me that fears the unknown and unfamiliar.

So help me deepen my faith that you will create streams of blessings in my desert seasons. Allow me to absorb the lessons from the past without being trapped by them, and give me hope when my current circumstances feel confusing.

I will choose to be courageous and embrace change when you lead me somewhere new, knowing that my trust and patience as you fully emerge and develop the next phase of my life will be worthwhile. Thank you for doing a new thing in me, even when I cannot yet fully see it.
