The Delay Doesn’t Mean God Has Forgotten You

Just because God’s promise hasn’t arrived yet doesn’t mean it has been forgotten. Some of the most beautiful things he prepares take time because he’s not only preparing the blessing — he’s preparing you for it, too.

God: I want to talk to you about the promise you think I forgot.

You: Sometimes it feels like you did.

some promises aren’t delayed to test your faith

God: I know. It’s hard to keep believing in something that hasn’t happened yet. You’ve looked at the time that’s passed and wondered if my silence was my answer.

You: Wasn’t it?

God: No. Silence and absence have never been the same thing. You’ve been measuring my faithfulness by what you can already see, while l’ve been working in places you can’t. I haven’t forgotten what I spoke to your heart. I haven’t misplaced your prayers or changed my mind because the journey took longer than you expected.

You: Then why is it taking so long?

God: Because some promises aren’t delayed to test your faith. They’re delayed because I’m preparing a life that can hold them.
